Champai Soren is the 7th Chief Minister of Jharkhand. He took oath as CM on February 02, 2024 after the ex-CM Hemant Soren was arrested. Champai is a member of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha party, and was representing the Seraikella assembly. His contribution and dedication for Jharkhand gave him the title ‘Jharkhand Tiger’.
Before February 02, 2024, Champai Soren was the Cabinet Minister of Transport. He was looking into infrastructure development, welfare of Scheduled Tribes, Castes, and Backward Classes.

Early Life & Education
Champai Soren was born on 1 November 1956 in Seraikela Kharsawan district of Jharkhand. His father Simal Soren was a renowned tribal leader and freedom fighter. Champai Soren’s wife Manki Soren is also a social worker. The couple has a son and two daughters.
Political Career
Champai Soren has been associated with Jharkhand Mukti Morcha since 1970. He was influenced by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha after realizing the similarity in his and the party’s approach towards tribal raids and social justice. In 1995, he was elected as MLA from Seraikella constituency.
